Rear coilover spring replacement? - 03/06/18 07:14 PM

Should these be replaced when replacing shocks?
Mine are about 6-7 years old and I am replacing my single adjustable shocks with double adjustable shocks.

Thanks Mike

If it has a lot of trailer miles or a few years of use, probably. My serious guys change them every 2 years, about 140 runs. Less if it's a light spring that is compressed some to store energy. Measure the free length. If it is a 12" spring, and it measures 11.875, it goes in the scrap.

Ride height has not changed . I will measure them when the come off and see if they still measure 12 in.
Thanks Mike

Mine have 500 passes(130psi). Both are bent and we're rubbing severly on the shock body. Ride height never changed.

Thanks DVW, will check mine to see if they are bent. Were there any signs that they were bent? Mine are also 130's and have lots of passes.
