Qestion to Brad H regarding cam (UPDATE) - 02/08/18 08:57 PM

I would like to know what the duration is on a Mopar Performace cam P4286677 and when i googel it i found a site where there whas a note that this cam whas 222 at 050 (Brad H) and it is rated to 231 at 050 so i would like to know whats the corekt number are !

seems like that would be a pretty good street cruiser cam.

Yeah, it was around 222-223 at .050", and definitely smaller than the stoopid MP .850 factor would lead you to believe.

I doubt I have that cam's lobe profile data any more (that was more than 20 years ago), but it was not an especially fast lobe, either. IIRC, the .004" lobe measurement was about 300, compared to some of today's "fast rate" lobes being around 20 degrees smaller at that point. Still worked pretty well in a fairly mild mid-to-high 12-second 440 combination, though.

If it's not available as an MP cam any longer, I'm pretty sure that Speed Pro sells it (or something really close) under # CS1148R. The also sell a replacement for the original '68-71 383/440 HP cam under # CS661, too.

Thanks for fast reply Brad =) then this cam would work great in a 438 B block for a 70 Newport conv auto 3,23 i gues and still be a good cruise car.

Brad your numbers are corekt ! I check the duration at 050 on the cam i instaled and it whas 224 !

They say even a stopped clock is right once a day... as long as it's not digital w/ dead batteries.
