EFI IAT sensor location

EFI IAT sensor location - 12/30/17 06:19 PM

For those with EFI using a 4150 style throttle body on a single plane intake, where are you putting your IAT sensor? Looks like my best option may be to drill and tap a carb spacer and put it there. Any other ideas?

I had a victor manifold that I drilled and tapped for a sensor just below the carb base, I used that when I was using my megasquirt system to control 8 coils but I was still using a carb. When I finished the fuel side I used a Holley 4150 throttle body that has the sensor at the inlet of the throttle body.

So the Holley TB has an integrated IAT sensor? That certainly simplifies things. Thanks!

Yes, but only if you buy the correct throttle body. They sell a few different ones and it is a little hard to figure out from the description.

The throttle body that I have has TPS, IAC and MAT sensors built in and it has multiple vacuum ports for PCV, MAP, vacuum gauge and ported vacuum for a distributor.

I have the same throttle body as Andy does. I will soon be running two of them on a T-ram, I will have some spare sensors for the road lol

Ok, so I just ordered a Holley 112-588 tb. Looks like it comes with tps & IAT sensors. Thanks all.

112-588 is the throttle body in my picture so that should work for you. You'll still need a MAP sensor but that is fairly easy to hook up since the throttle body has vacuum ports on it. Just run a vacuum line from the throttle body to a MAP sensor that you mount on the firewall. The cheap GM MAP sensors can be mounted with a couple of screws and they have a vacuum port nipple on them. The Holley wiring harness will plug right in.

That’s a nice throttle cable bracket

Thanks. Part of my new EFI lineup of parts for 2018. I should have that throttle bracket on the website shortly. I have some of them in stock now ready to sell. I made them out of stainless steel so they should look nice for a long time.

Will they work on a FAST TBI unit?, I’m travelling to the US end of this month, would be nice to be able to pick one up

Should work on anything with a standard 4150 bolt pattern. Part number is AR134EFI. Rich at FAST Man EFI should be able to get one for you. Mancini and Hughes haven't really started to stock the EFI parts yet.

I’ll be heading to Olympia WA first week of Feb, could I not just buy one from your website and have it shipped to my mate up there for my collection Andy?
