727 BB 8 bolt Flexplate options - 12/19/17 11:42 PM

What are my options for 727 torqueflite BB 8 Bolt flexplate besides B & M?
I see Mopar Performance are no longer made.
Are B & M a better quality than MP?

I broke a Mopar one around the outer ears. Never had an issue with the B&M it was replaced with. Both were new when installed.

Never seen or heard of an issue with a B&M flex plate. I've had one 20 plus years in my 10 second 4000lbs GTX. My Low 9 second Hemi GTX has one but have yet to run it.

I had a bad vibration with mine, I knew that was the cause of vibration cause it was the only thing I had changed. Took it off & replaced it with a mopar unit, and no more vibration. Gave the B&M unit away. Dave ss/ea #1355 fury

Anyone use this TCI? It's not SFI. Does that mean its not as strong as a SFI piece?

I think I have a 8 bolt b&m that I bought and never used but its sfi might not be good because of age. I got it cheap I will sell it for 30 dollars I got it for. its never been bolted on nothing.

I've used a ton of OEM street hemi in my race cars as well as several "Mopar" SFI tagged race ones up , I've never hurt one of either type or know any racer out here that has that had a decent converter to start with work I have seen them cracked but we also found out why, like a missing oil pump drive bushing or cracked or worn out bushing shruggy
I know several local racers that bought and used the B&M 6 bolt plates that had problems with all of the B&M they used work
Not so with the Mopar brand race 6 bolt flexplates with the large (7/16 diameter) race converter bolts up

Finally installed the B & M Flexplate and I am very pleased with the quality of it.
Curious, but it seems that the bolt holes to the converter are a little closer to the engine giving me a little more clearance to the converter but I could be wrong. Comparing this to the MP 8 hole flexplate.

I've used B&M, MP and a stock Hemi, no problems with any of them.

IIRC the 8 bolt pattern is actually the factory *-1962 (B/RB, early poly, Gen-1 hemi) stock flange.
Didn't there used to be 2 different 8 bolt flex plates, depending on the converter bolt size?

One 8 bolt flex plate for production - came out with Gen II Hemi. Same pattern between race and street hemi.

Before that there was I believe an 8 "bolt" design - but had no flex plate.

The converter had studs that engaged the crank holes, held to the crank with nuts.

There are two different 6 bolt flex plates - depending on converter bolt size. But the large converter bolt plate was a Direct Connection - I don't recall us ever offering a large drive lug bolt converter for a six bolt crank in production.

How about 1962 to 1964 M.W., my 1963 Belevedere 415 HP M.W. had one in it in 1971 shruggy
