Manual master cylinder bore diameter - 02/28/09 09:37 AM

I´m looking for Strange style alum master cylinder for my Duster, but I´m not sure what bore diameter I need. I´m converting from power brakes to manual. It´s orginally a manual brake car and pedal ratio is for manual brakes. I have drums in rear and ´73-76 a-body discs in front. The car weights about 3300lbs with driver.

Not sure if this will apply or not. I did a SSBC swap (put discs on the front),,and had to change the MC,,,
I have manual brakes.
I went with a "smaller" bore MC,,,,and used a 7/8" bore (the one supplied with the SSBC swap was too big)
It ended up being a 73 Dart MC for MY application.
Note; mine is not aluminum...
Not sure if this helps you or not.

1 1/8, change the pedal ratio to 6.5 or 7 to 1 and forget about it. Mike

An 1 1/32" bore master works nicely for that application.
