OK guys - you are a creative bunch and I know you've come up with lots of crafty projects to make your lives easier in the shop, so let's see them!

Since I haven't dug into the Duster yet I figured I would tackle some housekeeping projects first:

Project #1 - Build a tank stand so I can put both tanks on the welding cart.

Project #2 - Build a stand for the portable band saw. Now it fits under the work bench.

I reused a welding fixture/rotisserie that was being scrapped out at my work. I cut it in the middle, added some height to fully rotate the car, and had to change the caster location. Since it spins on carrier bearings, I can rotate the car easily with one hand.

Couple of the bikes from "White Trash Choppers". The silver one went 52 MPH with my 140 lbs on it's back!

cool stuff! I'm not a welder although I do own a Miller 211. I use it out of necessity, but not for important structural projects that I would actually have to "trust".

Same here. It saves my butt in some tooling situations but I got a real welder dude right down the street.

They are custom made by me. I use a JD Squared bender and bend 7/8" tube. I use 5HP Briggs engines. There's tons of aftermarket for them in the go-kart world. The Torq-A-Verter Clutch is key to pulling heavy loads and still having some MPH at the top end. I typically use old YZ80 rear wheels with a drum brake. I have built chopper bikes with solid forks, but lately have been using aftermarket Schwinn springer front ends. Tanks are a PITA.

As for welding. I weld like crap! I grind like a jeweler tho! Lol. I had no idea how to weld until I purchased mine. I'll post some of my other "White Trash Chopper" creations later this weekend. Headed out!

Some serious art going on there on those flat, cut plates. Brilliant if you ask me. Keep it up on this thread! I'm ready to start burnin' some gas and wire!

Haven't started welding yet...

Designing a new frame that will hopefully be more rigid than the current one. Hope to hit 60mph in the 1/8 with my fat butt on it

That guy has some colorful commentary....

If it was the vid from “Candymans Extravaganza” at Milan, you can see me try to loop my current bike on a bye run around ~23 min mark hahaha. This one will get some sissy sticks

Re: Fun with welders - let's see your projects! - 11/05/17 06:42 PM

One of those projects that I thought would be a good idea but I never got around finishing, and probably never will. I thought it would be a nice way to break-in solid lifter cams but now I hardly ever use them anymore. I checked out some of the engine break-in stands for sale and most were cheaply made. This one was defiantly going to be heavy duty.

I looked, but did not find the video you mentioned. The one I saw was only a few minutes long. Can you post a link? "Sissy Sticks" LOL
