2018 MATS dates yet?

Has anyone heard of what the 2018 MATS dates will be? I don't see anything on their facebook page.

Hopefully another fun year will be planned. Trying to plan ahead for next year.

Usually dates will come after SEMA. Once NHRA etc set their dates. Also not sure when the construction of the 4 wide will be finished at LVMS. That may play an additional factor., My guess is it will be a later date again this year for that reason.

I hope it is later, around April 1st is best for me!

Here are the weekends that it is not going to happened...

March 4...Nascar...
April 6-8 National event
April 14-15 nhra divisional race
April 17-21 spring fling million dollar race..

April 1, 2018 is Easter. The only good weekend is March 23-25.

Have not heard a completion date for the two new lanes or the refinishing of the existing lanes at LVMS as of yet Based on the "later" dats NHRA has used I would guess that's when it will be ready to use but who knows

If I remember right, they built the entire new drag track in 60-90 days.
I would think the 4 wide update would be done by februaryish.
I thought the new 4 wide race was to be only at the spring nhra race, so bruton will get it built.

Well they cancelled nothing on the current schedule. So December 3 is the last event on the schedule. They have been working on it now as well. Just not seen any official dates yet. Laying the new track will go quicker than fixing and resurfacing the existing track I imagine. But hopefully they will put out some sort of preliminary date. Normally the first Midnight Mayhem is in late January and first bracket race in February.

Looks like everything already scheduled is about a week or two later than normal.

It took them a few years to do the track. When I moved out here the bleachers were done, but we continued to race at the Speedrome for a couple more years.

The original group that build the speedway did the initial grading of the drag strip but left it at that. They wanted nhra to give them a race before they would finish the track..nhra said build the track and we will talk.

Bruton Smith bought the complex...a couple weeks later he had a National Event without the track being completed...and then the crap started flying to get it done.

I'm sure Phil will have the dates after SEMA. Seems to be when many things get finalized for sure.

Be nice...or we wont help you find transmission parts that fell out on the track this year in Bakersfield...lol
