Awesome! After all the talk of the Barton COPO going to be the first there it'd be awesome to see a Mopar do it.

Is this a 354 SC or 426 NA? Regardless, that is freaking amazing.

5.7 blower car I believe.

This is just speculation on my part but I think they found something in the suspension on these cars lately. The one Leah Pritchett drives has picked up also. The blown Drag Pack cars are 354 cubic inch. Their biggest problem in the past has been smoking the tires.

..in an article in national dragster in May
"We've got some really good support of late from Mopar. They have another engine approved and hopefully by Norwalk or certainly by the US Nationals, with the support of Mopar we'll have that ready to go.

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/16/17 03:30 PM

We have been working hard to find improvement on both cars. Many things including the suspension, transmission, converter, rear gear and the new aluminum block engine have all been part of the journey.

We are getting there and have now caught the fastest COPOs and Cobra Jets.

We'll keep at it so we can hopefully come out swinging in the NHRA and NMCA Factory Stock events in 2018.

How do the supercharged dragpacks compare HP wise to the Chevy/Ford supercharged engines?

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/18/17 12:15 AM

Mopar had a couple drag paks at Martin testing today, looked like the one Pritchett has been driving as well. Would be interesting to know the numbers.

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/18/17 12:55 AM

My sources tell me they make more. The problem they have had is hooking up on 9 inch tires. They are 3mph faster than the others, so it seems to match up.

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/18/17 05:19 AM

What's the weight for it in FS/XX?

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/18/17 11:29 AM

Cars with a 2.3L Eaton supercharger must weigh a minimum of 3,300 lbs.
Cars with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger must weigh a minimum of 3,550 lbs

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/18/17 03:48 PM

This was Geoff's reply to a post he had made on Facebook about the great run. I had asked him how well the thought the car would "race" next year:

"Thanks ! It should do pretty well.

Once we had it sorted, this car has hooked very well.

The issue we had is that when we didn’t have the down track power, we had to take a chance at the starting line in eliminations and throw more at it than normally you’d like. Plus at NHRA National events we sometimes ran behind ‘wheel speed’ guys that tear up the rubber, leaving bald spots and creating inconsistencies.

Now that we have the power, we have been making consistent low teens to eight 0 passes.

We will see."

I don't know which blower the Drag Pak cars use, but @3300lbs......170mph shows over 1200hp.

That's impressive!!

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/18/17 07:49 PM

Thanks for all the encouragement and support.

The 2015 Drag Pak 354 combinations all use the 2.9l Whipple blower.

In FS/XX it weighs in at 3,550+ lbs.

We ran the 8.02 in FS/A trim at right at 3,500 lbs. FS/A has a minimum weight of 3,410 with the current rating for the engine but because the driver likes donuts and these modern Challengers are relatively big and heavy, we can't really get down to that weight.

Great work! Is that block a G3 aluminum block or something Mopar came out with?
Posted By: Blackbird1

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/18/17 10:01 PM

Thanks ! it happened because of the great support from the best ever independent race consultant, Sandy Turk and a whole lot of help from my friends at MR2 Performance / JR1 Oil, BES Racing Engines, Coan Engineering, Holley and off course, the foundation Mopar and SRT Engineering.

The block is a new Mopar AL block, will be in new catalog soon.

Can you let us know all the cam specs that come with the stock drag pak?

Re: Geoff Turk-170 mph Drag Pak - 10/21/17 04:26 AM

You can watch NHRA Stock or Super Stock run live during NHRA Division 3 events on D3TV (a YouTube channel). The NHRA Div. 3 Facebook page publishes the daily schedule of runs / classes so you can follow along on D3TV.

You can see the NHRA Factory Stock Showdown on the web live on NHRA All Access (web based video streaming) but it is a subscription service. You can pay for an event or the whole season. You can also watch a recap on the Fox coverage of the NHRA events where Showdowns are run (5 events in 2017, 7 events in 2018).

Lastly, you can watch these cars run in Factory Supercar at NMCA events on SpeedVideo (another web based video streaming channel) for free.

I don’t have exact specs memorized but can get them.

Lift is 0.675, durations @ 0.050 are in the 260s and I think LSA is around 117.
