Good auto machine shops D.C. Metro area (esp. NoVa)? - 09/23/17 07:42 PM

I may need some stuff done locally (I'm in eastern Loudoun County, VA, and work in Tysons Corner), but haven't dealt with any shops in the general area for years. Any recommendations?

A little bump to keep it on the 1st page. Thanks! - Brad

Have you tried C and C Motorsports in Manassas Virginia? I’ve only purchased some small items from their storefront, and they are ford guys, but it’s a lead for you.... 703 368 7878.

You aren't from this area, are you? I wouldn't let that place touch my lawn mower, much less a car.

Some guys I know use a place in Hyattsville MD. I think the owners name is Jan Norris, maybe? Sorry I can't remember the shops name. Getting old sucks.

Good for you. My opinion hasn't changed and is based on a couple of friends experiences going back since EB3 first opened.

Carrol Carter -- C&C . I delt with him back in the 70s- 80s, did good work, nice guy. They where Chevy-Ford guys then. Not sure who runs it now. Son?? Depending on your wallet, Bud Whitaker in Laurel is top notch if he hasn't retired. Stocker-Super Stocker combos.
It is dry in the DC area for machine shops for some reason. A lot do it to support their habit. I guess it really depends on what you want done as to how far you would have to travel.

Thanks for all the replies. I've heard of most of the suggestions and will look further into some of them.

C&C in Manassas is still run by Carrol Carter. Nice man and they do nice work. Engine building is engine building, but his passion is Big Block Fords and is the supplier for many parts for these.

I have used Bill Richardson in Lynchburg for my builds. Not in Northern Virginia but just 3 hours south. He is Mopar 100% and has been doing it a long time. I have always been more than satisfied with any work he did for me. Call and talk to him about what you are looking for. That will give you an idea if he can do what you need. http://www.moparmecca.com/
