When you do not have a good product anymore, it's time for gimmick's.
LVMS was always intended to be a 4 lane track.
I was at the first LVMS NHRA race, and bruton announced over the PA that LVMS would have A fall and spring race the following year, He told everybody but NHRA.

I think it's just a way of offering up the 4 wides for the west coast fans.

National speedway her in New York used to be 4 lanes at one time, then it was narrowed down to two.

The problem with 4 wide is there is too much information going on at the same time, sucks for the fans too if you ask me.

I think the fact that someone is willing to invest into drag racing is a positive thing..

Not in my opinion. This year will be my last at attending LVMS then.

Bruton has wanted Vegas 4 wide since the planning stages. Too bad he's finally doing it.

I think the 4 wide races suck also. It also confuses the driver's at the starting line. Oh and I think it is stupid.

NHRA 4 wide = WWE, but lets be real NHRA is a joke, can't fill the fields, do the dumb countdown to the playoff crap. I'm sorry but if the guy leads the points all years and whoops everyone there's no reason he shouldn't be the Champ because the last race of the year he/she has a bad race. I guess I'm old school, but they try to be more "entertaining for the fans and be more like the stick and ball sports...

I don't think I disagree with anything said above. While I am getting a little more accustomed to the four wide I have never really cared for it.

However I still would like, at least once, to witness, in person, four wide fuel cars.

Anybody that that has actually done that have any comments?

they've announced that it will be at the spring race only, which iirc hasn't been attended nearly as strong as the fall race. If it lines their pockets and gives more financial reason to keep the track viable, who am I to complain. Guess it won't really affect me. Honestly I haven't been to a national event in a really long time. Team orders, 1000ft, and now short fields doesn't give me much incentive. Guess I should go to one again sometime.

Heck you are all ready starting out with low car counts so now there will be one less round of eliminations. Eat breakfast before you head to the track and you won't have to pay the crazy food and drink prices at the track. Just grab a bite on the way home.
