Some productive work on Swinger today

Some productive work on Swinger today - 08/06/17 03:24 AM

After about four years of body work and collecting parts finally installed driveline. As you can see from profile pic, Dart has changed colors. Driveline installed today and put the headers on the b1ba's. Custom made by my brother (68Shifter). 1 3/4 step to 1 7/8 SS with coating by QC out of Detroit. Yes, you can see a z-bar down there as well. RST clutch, red stripe proshifted 833, Action Machine Aluminum driveshaft, Strange S60, strange double adjustable in front, Viking DA's in rear, with strange lightweight discs all around

Motor will be soft for now as it is just Erson solid cam 360 at 11 to 1. It's a start I can build from though. Nice to put everything together that I have collected for so long. Fuel system is next, then wiring and finishing interior.

The Brodix heads have been a battle from the start, should have went another way but like with the stick, once stubborn, always stubborn. Head bolts, intake spacers, rocker stands, headers... gift that keeps giving

It is sure nice to clear up some room in garage. Hope to hear it this fall.

Steve, originally from Martin. Car has been tucked away as we rebuild it. Originally orange and rough, I didn't have the car out much. Hope to have it out next year...

Thanks for all the positive comments. Appreciate it but again have to give a ton of credit to my brother in this.

I will be at the nats next weekend with him, he coordinates and races in the stick class. I was hoping to be in the lanes with him this year but oh well.

It wasn't much fun laying under the car with a propane torch, wire wheels, putty knives and wire brushes removing undercoating. I am glad I did though, car is a bunch of yellow. grin still a couple of scars on my arms and many a foul word said...

Again, thanks for the comments.

What I see is that you did a good job on all the work in the pictures bow up
I've done the cleaning with a propane torch also and oven cleaner, nasty and dangerous realcrazy grin
Now will you drive it on the street or show it?

Re: Some productive work on Swinger today - 08/07/17 04:08 AM

This is a street/strip car. Just want it to be nice and when finally have the funds to build a stout short block not have to worry about the stick destroying the driveline. No show car here, just have done things so I hope to not have to redo soon or worry about. Where it started after we blasted the shell, I was not real positive on the outlook. As it was a MI car, a lot of the standard rust issues that AMD, a welder and patience resolved

It was rough and my eyes were bigger than my talent in many areas. Again the help my brother gave is the reason it looks like it does.

Nice looking car up

Some of the toughest things for me to find were the DODGE emblems for hood and trunk. I have mine now, silly to obsess on them but I did.
