Which strut rods?

I'm in the middle of rebuilding the front suspension on my dart.its street/strip and was curious as to what strut rod to use?

Put in the Alum ones just for the weight
loss.. other that them.. just use the stock
ones

I have the RMS ones with the hiem jounts and I have been happy with them.

QA-1's here...........

Those are the ones I was looking at.just trying to get the best weight transfer.

Would I get better weight transfer with rums or another brand over the stock ones?

I have the RMS rods and I really like how easy they were to install

I wish I'd have bought adjustable strut rods.

I probably will in a couple of years.

Hotchkis...after doing some research, they seemed to be the ones that were adjustable, and chrome-moly steel.

My originals were bent near the threaded tip sections.

I have not put many miles on them, so time will tell.

difference... your only talking a couple
of pounds vs the total weight of the car

In this case, the wt. isn't the gain it's the hiem ends allow faster transfer......

That's what I'm after.faster weight transfer and better front end travel.

ANY quality Alum rod with heims will do the
same thing.. and IF you want to work over
your stock ones with heims it will do the
same thing but be a little heavier.. I put
heims on my stock rods on my Valiant years

I heard some used ball joints on them for weight transfer..........

I obtained a pair of black powder coated one for a song & dance......
Just knocked over 100 lbs off the nose!

How did you knock off 100 lbs?

Just go on either web site and you'll see......

hemi-itis, is talking about a overall weight loss, not just strut rods. The aluminum strut rods are about 3-4 lbs lighter then stock.

By putting on ALL the light weight suspension parts on the front end you CAN NOT save a 100 lbs. The whole front end less brakes weighs only about 125. I had listed at one time the weight of each part. I lost that list when I lost my phone but I can re weigh things when I get time. The only thing that is really any savings is k frame and that is only about 10 lbs.

jake68...If I recall correctly, hemi-itis did more than just suspension to lose the weight. He went to aluminum hemi heads instead of cast iron (most of the 100 lbs right there, lol) and got rid of a big dual oil filter setup.
