msd 7al-2 plus question?

I'm having a hard time starting my new car. the msd has a ten to fifteen second delay before it starts to flash the led when cranking the engine with the ignition on. the car has a crank trigger not a distributor. I also did the msd tap test. I does put spark but with a ten to fifteen second delay. I think my 7al-2 is jacked.

What is the air gap on the pickup from the magnets? Check voltage and ground at msd box while cranking.

I ran a regular 7AL so I' not sure about the
delay.. any way to turn it off.. the box is
working.. you just need to turn off the delay
for starting

I put a new box on tonight. it had spark right away. the old box will spark sometime and then just wont spark again. now I wonder what took out the other box or did I just get a bad one? I am putting another ground strap to the engine per several friends request. this car is killing me. lol!p.s. the gap is at 60.
