MT Pro Bracket Radials , 28x10.5R15
Just got my second set , 18 months racing well over 110 passes last set . Very happy with results .
Good shocks and different set up needed when swapping from rag slicks .
Also don't forget they do not grow .
I have also run ET street radials(275/60) , 275 Pro's and Hoosier 275 radials . Pro bracket hands down better . Especially life span . Very consistent .

Curios on why this tires are faster work is it because of the no growth in the tire or sound sort of special compound?

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/03/17 01:08 PM

I just made the switch two weeks ago from a Hoosier Quick Time Pro to a Hoosier Drag radial 295/95 -15 on the recommendation of several friends. So far I only have about 12 runs on them but I like them as i can run more air pressure and they don`t need a big burnout. My 60 ft got a little lower maybe 1 or 2 hundreds but I also did a gear change from 4.10s to 4.30s. These runs have been in the heat as its been pretty hot the last few race days I am looking forward to see how they work in the cool, fall air, my 60fts have been consistent so far.

I run the 30x10.5 Hoosier radial slick. In my tank I've 60 foot 1.37 at 4100 lbs with 20 PSI in them. I'll never go back to bias. At the top of the track they are nice and stable too. Here is a slow motion video launch. 71 Charger launch

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/03/17 02:58 PM

While I have not personally run them, I have heard very good things about the M/T Pro Bracket Radials.

My son has some and really likes them.

ECU shows dead hook 99% of the time, sequential EFI 408, high 10s.

Never run them myself, but I agree w/ the others...the M/T Pro Bracket Radial is what I'd run if I had the choice.

That's what I was looking for, some real world feedback, I think I am leaning towards the Mickeys.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/03/17 04:57 PM

I tried radials once, spun the things to half track....I will stay with slicks.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/03/17 05:52 PM

I have ran the 295/65 x 15 for over 8 years. car weigh 3600 lbs with me in it. 19 lbs. best 60' 1.40, Very good on a prep track, not worth a fluff on a poorly prepped track. I would check to see if other people are running radials on the track you race on and go from there.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/03/17 06:08 PM

I've run both MT and Hoosiers. I prefer the Hoosiers as they are lighter and don't release nearly the amount of rubber as the MT's, which make for easier cleanup. The MT's last longer and the Hoosier's are or at least were banned from some classes. If you can get the Drag Radials to hook they can improve ET's. They are very unforgiving however. They don't recover nearly as good as a Bias Ply tire. They need to be dead hooked, and kept planted. Any significant offloading results in spinning. I'm still upgrading my suspension to get them to work. Hoping to make some passes this weekend!

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/03/17 06:53 PM

My car is very close to yours in set up and ets.I run the 10.5 x28 mt pro bracket radials at 18psi,hooks anywhere.More consistent than the bias slicks, much smoother down track ,slightly more mph and better reaction times.I have the Calvert Adj. rear shocks, with bias slicks worked best at full stiff, the radials like a litter softer(2 clicks less). Also they don't require much of a burnout.

Matt, I've got a set of Hoosier 30x10.5's that still have some life left if you want to try them out.

I like the Pro Bracket radial in a 28x10.5 as well.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/04/17 02:53 AM

G/f is running the Mickey 3754x drag radial.
Repeats within .01 or .02
That measures 28x10
10" rim
Almost dont need a burnout

I use the PBR 9x28
That has been repeating within .01 lately
7" rim
Minimal burnout

Both @ 16.5

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/04/17 05:01 AM

I have run both my and Hoosier. For your car best tire is the Hoosier 295 the new one I think it's ds2. It is Hoosiers version of the mt pro. An 11 sec or even 10 sec car should not need "radial prep" track to use these tires. My buddy's nova has the new Hoosier 295's on it and it runs 9.50's all the time. Get the Hoosiers they are way better on non prepped tracks.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/04/17 04:00 PM

My buddy runs a Hoosier 30x9x15 radial on his H/Stock auto car. He pulled the axels out to change gear and the axels splines where twisted about 3/16 inch, which means, dead hooking is hard on parts. Just saying, but im still planning on running them on my F/Stock Duster and all of the Stocker guys run them.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/04/17 04:14 PM

I loved those 275 radial Hoosiers i had on my Duster Matt. It only ran high 11's, but the 60 foot was ultra consistent from one outing to the next. And that with cheap shocks front and back.
Got two years out of the last pair, wifh a good bit of street driving thrown in.
They are very light and hook extremely well with a very light burnout. Ran 18 in them at the track.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/05/17 04:42 PM

Thanks for the offer Joe, but the 30's are to tall, 28" is the max tire. I will do some reading on the new Hoosiers. Thanks for the feedback

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/05/17 04:52 PM

Maybe I missed it above, but are you looking for DOT-legal radials, or track-only tires?

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/05/17 04:58 PM

Track only, any part # for the hoosiers, and the M/T

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/05/17 05:13 PM

17317 is the Hoosier 275 part number.
The 295 has a 94.5 runout, likely a good bit taller than what you can fit.

Re: DRAG RADIALS - 07/05/17 11:40 PM

I run the Hoosier 30 x 9 radial slicks and I really like them. As long as I stage right in the tracks where everyone is launching they hook great for me. And as was said no swaying at all on the top end. She goes nice and straight. Actually I have also been driving on the street the last 5 years on the Hoosier radial slicks and they handle great on the road also. Good luck with that nice looking Duster ! Ron
