Thanks A.J. for all the hard work you put into this race. I sure wish these races received better support from the racers before they all disappear.

Re: 13th Curt George Memorial June 16-18 - 06/19/17 03:48 PM

I went on Saturday. Coaxed my 17 yr old daughter to come along by letting her drive my truck. It was her first time driving a couple of exits on the Turnpike. And she likes the smell of burning race gas wink

It was hot but I had a good time walking around and looking at what people are running. And I got the 2017 version of the T-Shirt to replace my old one. We decided to leave later in the afternoon after that one guy broke a oil line and almost hit the starter's booth. That all happened pretty quick and we were lucky that nobody got hurt. I figured it would take some time to clean up the oil from burnout area and starting line and we didn't plan to stay for the pizza party so we headed home.

Thanks to AJ, BGR and all the sponsors for putting the event on. I hope to drag my car out to next year's event.

It was an external oil line that let loose on Tyler's Duster. I looked up and saw the car facing the tower. He just missed the starter's shack with the passenger fender.

X1000000000000 John. All the feedback I've heard, at the track and on FB, was how much fun everyone had, how good of a time, and appreciation for the amount of track time. SUPER reasonable entry fee for 3 days of racing, with good payouts and round money!

Forgot to add dial for dollars to the results...

Saturday, $10 entry fee for the dial for dollars run. You have to be green and above the dial. Paying first and second place, which happened in the same pair, and both were red Fox body Mustangs. Mark Coughanour goes dead on with a zero, Mike Balaska goes dead on with a 2.

Sunday, an off the trailer, free dial for dollars. $100 in each class for Box, No Box, and Nostalgia.
Box - Josh Rietscha, dragster, .012 above
No Box - Josh Barnett, '88 Monte Carlo, dead on 9
Nostalgia - Neil Lewis, '63 Dodge, dead on 1

Had a great time, well run event. I made 17 passes over the 3 days!.
60ft didn't vary more than. 02. The driver just needs to get it together.
Thanks again to AJ for a great event, and all the sponsors

Bob, AJ and all the sponsors should be congratulated on a stellar event. Very well run but laid back, a racer friendly facility and an announcer who really knew his stuff.
A wonderful event to celebrate a great memory. Now that I know the way there instead of trusting Mapquest (a 9 hour boondoggle), this will be on my yearly schedule and I hope to bring more Southern Mopar racers with me. By the way I was at Quaker City 2 years ago for this event - another HIT! in my book for facility, planning, and organization

Pop up downpour of rain after 3pm. The track crew did an excellent job of getting the track dried and racing. A lot of rain came down and then it got beautiful. Way better to race 1/8 mile than to sit around all the extra time needed to run 1/4 mile.
