That base reminds of the Edlbrock STR, Street Tunnel Ram, two piece intakes of old. I don't remember Edlbrock making them for the LA V8 motors though confused shruggy
That may be a Mopar race only piece from the Trans Am road racing series of old work

I have been interested in small block Mopars for a long time and I have never seen anything like that.

I have NEVER seen a bath tub LA intake before. I have seen them for the HEMI engines though.
The pipe plugs at the back of the intake, could be used for a few things but what they could be used for legally I don't know. You could plump NO2 & fuel through there with a nozzle right over each port. LAMO, I really just don't know... but I like the idea since it would be decently hidden. Or could be.

I'm not an expert but I've never seen one of those either, pretty cool piece. Top looks home brewed.

That plenum is huge, must have been a high-winding effort?

Here is a pic of an Edelbrock STR 12 for reference. Totally different base.

I may be way off base but what are the chances of the base being a modified blower intake?

This guy was all into road racing stuff. He says he was personal friends with Savage that drove the 42 cuda in TA. He has a AC cobra, a tiger?, 71 challenger, gtx and 70 cuda. Keith Black box he said has a destroke crank for the engine. He said he has a container full of stuff. He is like 77 years old

That's awesome! I love the wheels on the cuda in the background, they are for sure roadrace!
Cool story and keep us posted on the other stuff if you come up with any more information.

I am currently building a Mopar 305 myself. Just ordered the extra long connecting rods today (6.298" versus 6.123" stock). Still need the 2.96" de-stroked crank (versus 3.31" stock), going run about $3000 for a billet one.

I'd love seeing that intake with the top off.
