Wix r51515 has three times the flow of a regular filter. The media is more course than a stock filter so it can filter most all the oil all the time. To me that is a good thing.less chance of something big gatting into the rotating assembly.

I use the Wix on all of my stuff.. either the
51515 or the 51515R(which the R is a race filter)

Just looked into this and the R is a 61 micron filter. That's a human hair thickness!

WIX here also. If you cut one open, you will understand why. They are WAY more heavy duty than most other filters.

I use a remote adapter to mount the filter..the
filter just screws onto the remote.. I use AN 10
line on my set up

Re: Remote oil filter help - 03/20/17 06:43 AM

I use to use one of the old remote mounted Olbergs like yours and later one of the smaller 318=340 size Filter 1 cleanable oil filters so I could use that on the motors I dyno test and then inspect up
I have a Petersen remote mount oil filter that uses the same size thread and oil filter size as the Fram HP6 race type oil filter, I use the Wix race oil filter #51222R, this one has a internal bypass like all the other Mopar oil filters or the non by passing Wix 5700R4 that fits on the same remote oil filter adapter on my S/P Cuda, that filter makes the standard size Mopar H.D. oil filters like the Wix 51515 or their # 51515R look like the tiny little oil filter for my wifes 22R 4 cylinder 1996 Camry oil filter shock
BTW, do any of you guys use the longer Wix Pt # 57620 instead of the 51515 on your rides shruggy scope thumbs

I like the Jomar no-bypass filters. It worked as designed when I had some metal bits come off the valve train, and saved the bottom end etc.

They are hard to cut open though, as the can is thick.

I have the same thing as Cab. Wix Racing 51222R on a Peterson Fluid Systems remote with -10 lines. I actually have a K&N on there now but I have a whole case of the Wix filters. The remote has a nice 1/8" npt outlet for the Racepak.

Why doesn't your engine builder like the Oberg? I think they work just fine for a drag race engine. They are a little clumsy to use since they always drip oil when you take them apart and stuff like that but it is a simple setup and quickly shows you if the engine making any trash or not. As long as you keep them clean they should work forever. Most drag race engines get the oil changed on a regular basis so all you are looking for is a way to spot trash and the Oberg does that job pretty well.
