The link to registration for the 2017 HOT ROD Drag Week goes live at HOTROD.COM, March 4, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

WAIT LIST INFO: There will be no refunds of HOT ROD Drag Week registrations, so please make sure that if you register you will be prepared to race in September. If you register then find you must drop out please notify us by emailing dragweek@hotrod.com as soon as possible. If we sell out the race during pre-registration we will keep a wait list for all those folks who would like a shot at a spot if any open up. We will fill any spots on a first come, first served basis as racers drop, based on the date and time we receive the wait list request sent to dragweek@hotrod.com. Wait list requests will not be accepted until after the event sells out.
Check the HOT ROD Drag Week page in the months ahead for more details about the event and the registration day announcement.
The registration price is : $395 with a $19.58 processing fee if paying by credit card. You must be at least age 18 to complete the registration transaction. If someone enters on your behalf, they MUST put you down as the driver of the car and have your correct birthdate.

NOW, SOME TIPS!
– Registration is non-refundable and non-transferrable! You can’t register now and then hope to sell or give your entry to anyone else later. This is important. If you give or sell your registration to someone, they will NOT be able to enter on site.
– You can have a friend register for you AS LONG AS YOU ARE LISTED AS THE DRIVER
– The name and address fields must match the billing address of the credit card you use.
– Every field in the online form must be filled out or it will bounce back and ask you to fill them all. If you are missing information, enter TBD in the field and get the information to us ASAP!
– If your car is not yet insured, that’s OK. Just fill out something in the insurance fields so it doesn’t bounce back. HOWEVER, you will be required to present proof of real, current insurance on the race vehicle when you show up on site at Drag Week.
– Kids 16 or 17 with a valid license can race at Drag Week, but a parent or legal guardian must register and must use their credit card for the transaction. They must list their child’s name as the racer and must include the child’s date of birth. At the event, a custodial parent or guardian must be in attendance with them during registration and for the duration of Drag Week competition. ALSO, if you don’t get registered before Drag Week entries sell out, you can GET ON THE WAIT LIST by emailing dragweek@hotrod.com. You will be placed on the wait list in the order your email was received.
WAIT-LIST AND ON-SITE REGISTRATION
-If you want to race at Drag Week, but you missed registering before the entries sold out, send an email with WAIT LIST in the subject line as soon as possible after registration closes to dragweek@hotrod.com. State your name, contact information, class you’d like to enter, and the fact that you want to be on the wait list.
-Wait-list people will be placed on the list in the order in which the emails were received. Wait-list emails time-stamped prior to registration closing will be discarded.
-If pre-registered racers email us to let us know they are dropping out before registration day, and if the total number of registered racers is below 400, we will allow the wait-list people to sign up on a first-come, first-served basis.
-If Drag Week has fewer than 400 entries when on-site registration is concluded at the drag strip on registration day, we will accept the wait-list entries that are present on site, starting with the first people on the list and working down. Once all wait-list entries are added, if the total entries are still fewer than 400, we will accept entries from other people on site who have shown up to try and race.

Obviously it's not about the jacket. 10,000 people run in a marathon, and 9800 of them have no chance of placing in any class. They are testing themselves, their resolve and their abilities. Hot Rod Drag Week is much the same, it's about measuring you and your car against the goals you have set for yourself, and if the "look at me, I'm a winner!" crowd want to race for money, they can do that at a thousand different races on any given weekend.

The crybabies who want to be coddled are really starting to get me riled up. Drag Week doesn't need stars, it makes them.

being a "by-stander" and not having a clue, what has entry been for this event? guess I kind of look at it like March Meet. I've been three times and can't remember what the price was. I just knew I was going to get to hang around with some really cool car people at a very historic facility.

Jay,
Don't have all my sheets in front of me, but:
2006, we paid $225 at the gate.
2012 was 265$ online with a 6.00 service fee
2013 was 280$ online with a 10.00 service fee
2015 was 325$ online with an 11.45 service fee

I guess if it keeps selling out in ten minutes...

I'm sure track rentals aren't cheap, and it's a huge undertaking. In the grand scheme of things, the entry fee is a small percentage of what we spend to do it, (as anyone who races understands.)
