So what do ya think? It was pretty %$&^up so I had them do it in black figured it would match the car.

Still has tape residue on it that needs to be cleaned up.

Looks sufficiently evil!

Is it magnesium, and if so, how did you prep the hat?

Different - I like that.

Back on my Olds I had a Hilborn scoop, I had it powdercoated with a translucent teal to match my car - looked great over the polished aluminum.

He probably can, he may have to strip it all back down though.

Did the valve covers clean up?

Somewhat I think someone else is going to finish them up.

I just don't have the patience.

Black looks good, the up side (I'm always looking for one) is now you can go dog her out at the track get all your wrenching/tuning/scrating done and then sort out the cosmetic stuff. Then she'll be beautiful again and fast!

how well will it hold up to alchol. i thought that stuf that had alchol running through it had to be anodized. not sure though.

i was wondering the same thing. the few parts that i've had powdercoated got soft, or gummy if carb cleaner got on them. however if you didn't try to wipe them off while they were wet with the carb or brake cleaner, and just let them dry by them selves they would go back and stay shiny after an hour or so. maybe i had a bad batch of powdercoat?

The only thing going through the hat is air. It has port injection and injectors that go under the hat. So Jimmy shouldn't have to worry about fuel getting on the outside of the hat.
