Indy rocker adjusters - 02/17/09 01:23 AM

tiny little hex to adjust with 1/8 allen and the holes for the allen are sloppy from the start doesn't fit.You can not keep the adjuster from turning when trying to tighten the lock nut just to small of a wrench.

Smith Brothers is the only ones I found that had a 3/8x24 adjuster that used a 3/16 allen.

Yes they are the worst allen sockets I have ever seen. SO sloppy. A few years ago I bought a set of adjusters for my indy rockers from Scott Brown that were much better. I have no idea who made them though.

I had ordered a set of smith bros to replace the adjusters on my crane golds that we were going to use in my wife's motor. Ended up using the indy sr out of my motor in her's. The smith bros adjusters I got for the cranes worked just fine in the indys. Don't have a part number, but it's as simple as a phone call to smith bros. They'll know what you need.

Did you have any other problems with the IndyBrock heads. I just bought the same heads (full CNC port with the bigger valves) and the quality of everything sucked. Did a vacuum check and they failed. Valve to valve seat was off as much as .006. Valve guide clearances were as high as .0045. They did not use hardened shims under the springs, they were soft. The exhaust valves were .043 shorter then the intake valves. The worst part was the flow check. They claimed they flow 304 cfm at .600 lift on the intake and mine only flowed 283cfm.

My heads went from Indy strait to RyanJ and had him do a VJ and a little clean up on the runners also put the correct springs for my cam so I didnt have any of those problems according to Ryan OTB they flowed 305 intake and 214 exhaust @ 700 after he was done with them they went 314 and 230 @700.
