Indy Head to B1 - 12/16/16 02:54 PM
If I were to covert a motor I've been running a set of Indy heads on what needs to be done to switch to B1's? To my knowledge it has to do with valve size or spacing? So the pistons would have to be modified in the relief area?

Valves are move to "on bore center" so pistons are either going to need replaced or worked on. You will need push rods, oil drain back lines along with the b1 stuff IE intake, rocker arms, valley pan ect
You might find your distributor wont fit also.

that's what I thought. Thanks for the info!
Tom Hemphill in PA cut my Wiseco 440-1 pistons (4.50 bore stock 440 rod size) so I could run my B1 heads. I updated to a nitrous piston so they may be for sale.

The main reason I asked is I was starting to think I made a mistake on my new build by not having the pistons cut for B1's thinking you could have a piston that would accept both style heads. The motor is just about complete so I guess at this point hind sight is 20 / 20
