"sneeky" race fuel - 02/14/09 02:25 PM

not that anyone would know how to get around a pump gas rule...but i am wanting to find some race gas that i could mix with 92pump gas for my 11:1 motor. needs to not have a color and not smell like race fuel, i know several of the other guys i race are doing this. i see that vp has lots of clear and yellow fuels but didnt know if they would have the obvious odor. also what octane should i be running???

Change over to E-85 (if in your area) you wouldnt have
any problem and you could up the compression. If
you cant stay the rules..... dont race that class,
if your friend CHEAT, turn them in.... JMO

you might want to try some of the oxegenated fuels they use for the pump gas drags.

thought about the e-85 but have at least one group i race with that says no. as for staying with the rules. i'm not a taddle tale and i wouldnt have anyone to race against if i got the cheatyers dq'd. i have been running pump gas but kinda think i'm on the edge for my CR. thought about the rocket brand "pump gas" but they don't show anything @ there site and havent responded to my e-mail. what octane for 11:1 ratio iron heads and 232 237 @.50 cam with 110 LSA???

I dont know why the one group says no to E-85 unless
they cant figure it out.... but if its in the area
I'd push it to the rule group. As for ratting on
your buddies, you dont have to rat them out, go to
the tech people and push them checking fuels. I dont
believe in cheating and dont back people that do. If
they keep cheating.... YOU will NEVER win.
Where is your cam installed at, if its not installed
way advanced I dont think your going to have a problem

well i might not worry about it if i wont cause engine damage. cam is installed straight up. not sure of the centerline. rules state "pump gas 95 octane max" and e-85 has to much octane. sucks cause i had a guy that developed bg's e-85 carb that was gunna sponsor me. dont need race fuel to beat the chevy cheaters any how. just didnt want to beat the ol' 446 up more than i had to. feels better when all the cheaters can't figure out what you are doing. they cant believe they get smoked by a mopar!!!!

I work for a manufacturing company that produces
Propylene Oxide. I see loads of the stuff. I always thought that would be interesting to experiment with as a fuel additive. I belive it's banned by the NHRA though. Ohh,I forgot, you're cheating
