Wow crazy bounce front end must be real real loose. Hopefully the car isn't hurt

By the forth pass we swapped the 4.30 gears back in.

Re: Brett's pass with new gears - 09/21/16 02:56 AM

Hopefully he didn't bend the car. Time for bars for sure or a different setup. Popping up way to fast, not the greatest way to set it up.

Re: Brett's pass with new gears - 09/21/16 03:04 AM

Front afcos were full tight on third pass and five clicks from full tight on second pass. Just needs more weight on front with the radials. Car is fine, didn't touch headers or oil pan. Oh he don't like bars so that's not a option at this time.

Fourth pass looks great, new gears and the 400# of sand bags out of the trunk , right. :>} No way did just a gear change to 4.30,s made that much difference.

I think the video speed is off, making it look like its slamming down harder than it really is.

Did you add weight to the front before taking gear out of it? Making some power.

No we didn't have any with us. Brett thinks it will be faster to eighth with steep gears in it.

Went from 4.86s to 4.30s that's it. Shocks and weight of car the same.

when my struts blew out it would do that in all 3 gears

I'm no expert, but it looks like it could have used 100# up front before making the gear change. It would probably still be quicker to the 1/8th with the added weight.

I think it will take a pile of weight up front to hold it down. Last pass of the day he got after the launch with the 4.30s and pulled a 1.5' wheelie. I don't know what he will do with Mr 909 in there.

Softer less aggressive torque converter... is what I was told would help my cars short time improve and take some of the hit away...it is doing the same thing with a 1.87 first..I should have new 7in vert next week..I will hopefully Have good news to report back. Good luck

The startig line ratio, 1st gear + rear gear ratio + tire hieght, determine how hard and quickly the car spins or wheelies workshruggy
