torqueflite problems - 07/15/16 06:05 AM

Not sure what happened , I missed a shift went 1-3 and now when I shift into second it goes no where. It acts like it is trying to go but something is holding it . if I rev it in second it tries to pull hard but as soon as i let off it acts like i put the brakes on hard. The fluid smells burnt and it did get pretty hot. Anyone with any clues? I have 10 passes on it since the rebuild.

What he said. Burnt fluid? Get it out and get it apart. Not sure why 1-3 shift would cause something to come apart or how the front piston could cock unless it broke. Maybe welded high gear clutch pack or broke something in that drum. Regardless, we can speculate, but it needs to go on the bench, get cleaned up and fix what's busted.

They are pretty simple. Burnt fluid = black and blue parts, frictions ruined. Pictures of anything questionable help.

Where in KY are you?

They are not hard to replace parts in. If your around louisville you can get parts at W.I.T. (Whatever It Takes). They are in Brooks. 1-800-940-0197. They even have a book for $35.00 that is step by step instructions.
