I forget what year they started putting in the
crash beams in the doors but if they were in them
they were very heavy in themselves ... but I dont
believe they were in there then.. I think they
started in 72

1970 was the first year they had them. Maybe 45 pounds each per door.

There's definitely a big difference. I have forgotten what the stock doors weighed but they were heavy. I believe my current fg doors weigh 12 lbs. Everyone that moves one is amazed.

I do know this is 100 lbs or better wasn't guaranteed I wouldn't even think of it.. VFN says 12lbs a door without lexan and bracket.
Vfn has some beautiful stuff I've seen recently and Glasstek is 3 weeks already waiting for my dash..so I'm like hmmm.

Ordered two factory style hood scoops from VFN four weeks ago, and they told me they were 10 weeks out at that time...FYI

Doors would be less weight, but the biggest weight savings is the window, vents and all the parts, plus hinges, they're more than the door. Swiss cheese the inner door frame then a lexan window(no vent) with a 1/4 " cm tube for perimeter support is pretty light, and strong. Wouldn't waste time and money using a glass door and putting all the stock stuff back in. IMO

I built fiberglass doors for my car, they weight 15# each. Same window and frame came from the lightened stock door.

I lost one whole door in wt. If you look at it like that.

Ok just weighed 69 Cuda doors, completely striped door..37-38# stock just off the car complete with door panels...91-92# could be off a little but not the difference, used bathroom scales
A 12 # fg door will save approx. 25# of total weight, down to 66# with the stock window

Sorry, 92 to 93 pounds that's with a complete door and hinges, just as it came off car. Door with nothing on it, 37 pounds. Just a bathroom scale. Still 55 pounds of stuff on door

That would be door, glass, quarter vent and hinges all changed or removed for lite weight stuff.

Digby's glasstech doors looked super nice in person and were crazy lite. His hinges are made out of aluminum and pop on and off easy.

No, 110 pounds of glass, hinges, handles, vent windows, window mechanisms, latch, door panels, arm rests or everything that goes on the door. But I doubt any of that can be bolted on a fiberglass door. 20 lb fiberglass door verses a 37 lb steel door, you save 17 lbs each door, maybe.
