4150 to 4500 - 06/09/16 02:49 PM

If a person is switching from a 4150 to a 4500. Where is a good starting point in regards to jetting? Same, less or more?
950 4150 to 1050 Dom is the thought here. Thanks.

That is the Dom sheet.
This is the 4150 sheet. It has a 90/98 jet in it now.

Do you still have the PV in it yet?

I'm kinda surprised by your spec sheet from Pro Systems, b/c your dominator is almost an exact copy of the dominator they built for my 572" hemi.

There are some basic starting points w/these things so that`s why a lot look the same or similar then you tweak from there. Either way...........to the op, it`s more than just jetting so consider the jets the first fuel restrictors and the boosters the final restrictors. The "tune" is in the emulsion, bleeds, passage sizing etc......That dom tune`s a bit wacky...........

Yes the PV is still in.
That Dom was not built for my engine. It is one I have a chance to try and if it works make a deal on. To me it looks like I could try as is. It's only 2 jet sizes down from where my 4150 is now. But I'm just not sure?

Stop trying to compare jet sizes on two completely different carbs; it's an apples-to-oranges thing and not a basis for evaluation of what changes may need to be made when you try the other carb.

iagree I've had around ten different Holley and severl custon built 1050 CFM Dominators, the best jet sizes ranged from 84 to 96 on them and none of them used the same sizes shock shruggy There are several other things that contribute to the fuel flow into the boosters besides the main jet sizes work

It appears that the Dominator is a 3 circuit carb so that is a whole different ball game.

Yes I am learning that when it comes to a carb there is no 1 size fits all.

Those look like Pro Systems build sheets,Call Patrick with the carb order # and specs on what you will be using it on. He will usually get you pretty close if possible. I did it with a dom that I bought from a member here and he was more than happy to help. Now have 2 of his dominators and an SV1.Jim

Patrick said to try .028/.073/.046 on the bleed. No PV and a square 96 jet.

Could work on a drag car that leaves the line at 5000 or so and shifts at 7000 or something like. If you're trying to use it on your motor home for the summer vacation trip then it won't work worth a dang.
