according to the motor tech archives a stock 383 engine weights 620 pounds. check out the archives for some added info. Don't forget to add shipping crate weight and some shippers add a oversize rate.

No, no .. it's best to set the torque at 65 ft lbs and then reset after warm up

You cant go by guestimates for shipping weight. You will have to package yours and get its weight.
At least thats the way it was when I used to ship. Maybe you can guestimate and then have it weighed by the freight company for actual.
As for a guestimate, your looking at 550 to 650 pounds depending on how comoplete your ship combo is. mike

Stand on a bathroom scale, read your weight, hold the engine while someone else reads the scale and then subtract your weight.
