I'm not Savvy to the digital racing world...it is going to be a fun I bet.and a bear to wire in...friends laugh at me because I still use a old 6al box. Witch makes it hard to hook this car on a small Tire...on tracks that are not so well-groomed...

I bought this setup last year and cannot believe how I raced before without the grid now LOL, I pull a bit of timing out at the hit and my already consistent 60' is now even tighter. So much more to learn and play with though (adding nitrous soon for catch -up & strategy). One other thing was how much better the car starts, was previously running a 7AL3. Lots of good info there at YB and MSD.

Any tips for initial start up?

Sorry about the link, I'm on my phone, harder to copy and paste with big fingers

Re: MSD Power grid help - 04/18/16 09:12 PM

Squareparts, If you PM me your email I will try and email you my current tune later tonight and you can modify it to your liking , that is what I did with a friends tune initially. One thing they don't do is tell you how to set up the values, etc. real well. I wanted to and do pull 7* out of the timing at the release of the TB to help the running gear (trans) take less initial shock after breaking an output shaft last year. So I pull 7 degrees out after .2 of the brake release and then ramp it back in about 1.7 seconds out, very similar to what Forest has shown above. Lots of endless possibility with it and can record/ watch runs after and see how they all stack up etc. Feel like I still have just touched the tip of the iceberg. lol

When I went from my 7AL3 to wiring this thing in was easy especially with the plug-in now. Car started right up so if I can do it any one can as wiring has always been a bit of a head scratch-er for me. lol
