trans blanket suggestions? - 02/01/09 01:58 PM

I am thinking about adding a trans blanket to my 727 equipped small block A body, anybody have any thoughts pro/con? Who makes good one, who makes cheap one. What fitment problems are there? Car is low 12s, no brake, 3600 converter, 6800 rev limiter. I did loose a drive shaft on 2800 rpm launch last run in ’08.
Thanks for any comments!

I would go with a shield instead. The reason? .. the blanket holds-in-heat...will "wear out" and soak-up ATF and oil.

I would check the overunning clutch. There is a guy called Chuck Lofgren ( I think thats the right spelling) that sells blankets for the mopar stuff. Its what I have and it took less than a 1/2 hour to install.
