NONFLAMMABLE OIL-ABSORBENT LINER? Belly Pan Questions. - 02/13/16 02:53 PM

Finally ready to break down and do the belly pan thing, and all the rules quote you must use this material inside the belly pan, but when I search Summit, or even Google, I'm not finding what I need.

Who the heck sells this stuff, and what is easiest to use??

Also, I thought there were specific rules to the thickness of aluminum or steel used to construct the pan, but I'm not finding that either.

this is what is inside my engine blanket..... can't say that it isn't flammable or not.

I don't recall their being a "spec" for the pan.... Might get ahold of David Dean. He made one for his Duster

I really really like my DRE ( Dennis Ridgeway) blanket fits great--top quality hardware--he is the best IMO
You can get ballistic cloth upgrade --worth it to keep things inside the blanket

No specific material or thickness requirement called out in the rulebook. RJ sells them made of carbon fiber.

If the pigmat is the grey, same thing as what is used to absorb oil on a floor then be careful not to get against anything hot like headers and such as it will melt and eventually catch fire, the ones we used at the shop was banned from use in the weld shop and around anything making extreme heat, they make several types, some for oil only and some for water only, I would call the manufacture and talk to them.lmo

Dartman is correct, my turbo exhaust will melt pig mat after a hard hit. I try to keep it away from the exhaust.

pig mat will burn. we had some catch fire around a piece of equipment in the machine shop i retired from. this fire was caused by a malfunctioning electric motor on a hydraulic pump catching fire. the pig mat was there because the hoses to the pump/tank connection leaked.

I've been wondering myself. I want to install a Moroso oil pan heater but I run a diaper. Anybody do this?
