2009 IHRA Rulebook - 01/29/09 07:36 PM

IHRA has shown again why they are held in much higher regard by their sportsman membership than that N"otHeR"A sanctioning body.

Last year, the IHRA rulebook was sent out on a computer disc. Members complained, and lo-and-behold... the 2009 edition is back to a traditional print copy (which showed up with this week's issue of Drag Review Magazine).

As an added bonus, Dragway 42 has a story on the front page of their track website today that includes a link to an ONLINE EDITION of the 2009 IHRA rulebook.

I think that is really cool!

Huh? NHRA sends out a copy every year.

Last year IHRA sent their rulebook out on a computer disc (no print edition). The membership complained and IHRA changed back for 2009.

Would NHRA have switched back just because paying members complained?

I remember when IHRA sent the disk instead of the book. At first I didn't like it. But it does make it easy to look up and quote rules to the people that ask on the internet. Saved a lot of typing and saying, "get the book and read it". But... at the track, the disk does no good. Human eye balls can't read a disk.

Sending the book for the members at the track, and putting the rules electronically available is the best of both worlds.
