Thinking of taking out the roller and putting a small hyd cam in. Don't care about slowing down but wanna make sure it still stays consistent. Runs 10.20s now how much slower you think it would run with something like the .484 or .509 purple shaft cam?

I have a brand new 509 purple shaft that I'll trade if it will make you happy

I pulled roller cams out of two different engine and replaced them with solid flat tappet cams and both cars were faster with the flat tappet cam. Slightly faster. I don't think you will go faster with a hyd flat tappet, but I bet you wont slow much, two tenths at the most. I would use the old mopar 509 and put it in 6* advanced.

Thanks for the info Dan. Biggest thing is to make it more consistent. 2 tenths slow wouldn't be bad at all. I was looking at the comp cams hydraulic 519/524. I will check out the .509 too.

What about the roller is making it inconsistent?

I'm thinking with the hydraulic I would be taking some power away which should make the 60s more consistent. Ive adjusted and tweaked on the suspension and got it pretty good but just trying to make dead nuts everytime.
