EGT Question - 10/05/15 04:28 PM

Unit is Computech, single probe. In #7 cylinder, 1" from the head, the hottest from dyno testing. Question is, if you go too rich, is it possible for the temp to go up, from fuel burning in the exhaust? Mph dropped, but temp is still high. 1375*. I suppose the probe could be bad, as well. I cleaned it, and it was lightly tan.

On the N/A gasoline powered airplane motors we would lean the mixture down in flight until it reach peak EGTs and then enrichen it 50 to 75 degrees F rich of peak. The turbo charged airplane motors call for 75 degrees lean of peak shock shruggy
