modified stock gas tank

anyone have any pics of modified stock tanks to use 8 or 10 AN feed and return?

You could use a sump kit welded to the bottom. Use one of the bungs welded on the sump for the supply. Then I would remove the sending unit and weld a bung to that in place of the original pickup tube. You could use the other bung in the sump but I wouldn't want to do that because of the turbulence. My car has the sump but I don't use a return system.....

What year and body style tank...the sump kits work
well and a return up in the front/side corner would
be a good return area... dont use the sump for a return
area... that would be a turbulence and aireation issue
being that its in a confined area(you put a few 1" holes
in the bottom of the tank where the sump mounts)... if you
do use a sump kit.. keep it towards the rear of the tank
and have a few holes just ahead of the rear sump wall ..so
if your low on fuel it will get the most fuel into the sump
Also when you return the fuel have it so the return fuel is
in the fuel(not above the fuel level).. the splash will create
air... I dont have any pics of the stock tanks I use to build
for Chrysler (wasnt allowed to take pics out of work being
that the tanks were pre production stuff)... I can show you my
Rampage tank but its a alum home made item

its a 69 b-body.good idea of drillin the holes,i was gunna just cut it out square the return idea makes sense too.

The holes work as a anti slosh so the fuel doesnt
run up the back wall and out if your low on fuel

I run a Comp Engineering sump welded on the stock tank in my 68 Satellite . -8 line out to filter/pump , I run a -6 return line back into a 3/8" sender unit , I did alter sender to not direct returning fuel at the sump .

Year One sell a 1/2 pickup & sender unit that has an extra but small hose port, probably an emissions thing. i plumbed the return from my Magnafuel 275 onto that & changed the mainline to -8 hose. works great on my E body.
