I see some talk of "oval porting" B1 heads.
Looking to upgrade to either Indy 572-13 or B1 M/C Heads.
Any direction or input would be appreciated, such as who would you recommend for porting work on B1's, installing drain fittings, etc......
540", single four barrel carb with cast intake build per rules....

What's the advantage of oval vs rectangular? Less dead space in the oval vs rectangular?
One of the ongoing debates in the World of head porting.

Velocity and if you look at most any high end cylinder head they are oval ports.

A friend of mine has a 572-13 engine he has no use for if you are interested.
I am open to all options at this point.
My email is mattpierce789@yahoo.com or PM his contact info.
Any estimates on cfm of the oval ported M/C stuff??

Benches vary and flow mean little with no velocity and too much cross section. You can have all the floor in the world but if the velocity is low then it wont matter a bit.
FWIW this is a 99/06 Hemi Pro stock head

Thanks. As a long time Indy 440-1 user, i am trying to learn as much as i can before jumping into the $ pool of a new top end.
Also, its difficult finding port volume ideas forthe b1mc stuffonline.

FWIW in the right hands 460ish CFM is attainable

I've seen 450 CFM at or above .700 lift posted on here about regular style port B1MC heads, both of the ported B1 original I had flow sheets on said between 400 to 430 CFM at or above .700 lift getting a little better the more the valves opened

That's because Mike Duke is a port development genius!
But there is no way those flow numbers are real because he doesn't "specialize" in Mopars
Anyone got contact info for Mike Duke?
