The one big problem with a bracket car is you want everything the same on every run.. no cooler and the trans temp climbs and it will change the stall point... put a large cooler on it and dont worry about the trans

a 10 sec car would have a good hi stall so you'd be building up heat especially if you're good & are doing some rounds. they come around quicker once you've made the quarter finals. buy a good one with a fan.
If you really want to upgrade your transmission cooling system add a cooler and one of these. One of my racing Friends at Pittsburgh Raceway Park offers these.
Yes it certainly DOES get airflow under the car. I have done it quite a few times. I know that DVW’s NSS car is mounted in this way.
My car because of the turbo sometimes has to be on the transbrake for a long time to spool it up. (Especially with the old tight converter)
I had one BIG tube/fin in front of my radiator (18x18?) but it wasn’t enough. Added a second smaller 10 x 8 under the car just behind the front cross member and that helped more. Took the trans blanket off and switched to a CSR shield, and that was better yet.
But going round robin (sometimes in multiple classes) it would still get the trans fluid NUCLEAR hot.
I had a 48RE deep steel pan on the car, and I switched to the B&M deep aluminum cast pan with fins on it. I honestly did it because the stamped pan was old/beat and leaked. But surprisingly this had a HUGE impact on my ability to keep the trans temp down.
my trans cooler is down the back of my racecar by the diff. it has a fan attached & overheating is not a problem. it also helps with weight distribution & with the fan running, it blows my burnout smoke away making my burnouts look more impressive.

when you mount your temp gauge, make sure its on the return from the cooler or in the pan. the first gauge i fitted was going to the cooler, when you come off the transbrake it went around so far it knocked the needle off the gauge, kinda ruined a good gauge that did.
