Front shock recommendation a body

Lookin to upgrade my front shocks on my dart.
Currently has Calvert 90/10s and the front shakes pretty hard when it hits. Car weighs 3150 with me and need to fit stock location. I know they say buy the best but what is a good shock for the money? Car only runs 10.0s so I don't want overkill, appreciate your input!

Koni SPAs, if you can find a set still I had them on my Duster, way better than the more expensive QUA-1

i'm running the el cheapo Comp Eng 3 way adjustables. i did upgrade? to a set of Koni's but found the CE's gave me better 60 fts. so much for the upgrade. i run low 9's with long wheels stands & no shake with these junkers.

Koni SPA-1s worked great on my car but they had to be removed to adjust. Changing track conditions make easy adjustability very useful. I have QA-1 single adjustables on the front now alternating between 3 & 4, with "full soft" as "0". But I went with an "experimental" set of double-adjustable Viking shocks for the front of my Volare project. The QA-1 are pre-set pretty stiff on compression, which works well, but the Vikings can be fine tuned.

My current car 60 foot times vary between 1.46 and 1.51 @ 3,540 lbs +, depending on weather and if it's on "kill" or bracket mode. But I plan to stick with Viking if and when I need shocks again. I like their customer service.

Buy the best shock you are willing to pay for.

If you are wanting somebody to tell you that so and so $100 shocks, perform just as well as so and so $300 shocks.........well, that simply isn't going to be true. So again, buy best shock you are willing to pay for.

I just got viking rears for my car. While i haven't used them yet they have been great to deal with via email. One of my shocks showed up without any bushings in it and the return and exchange went real smooth. I hope to be testing them out this friday.

I run strange singles and viking doubles on my scamp...The single adjustable up front helped big time with getting the car to hook on a radial- the car actually 60'd best with the front shocks at 4 clicks away from full loose, which goes to show what I have heard many say over the years- the faster the car the less you need a "full loose" shock and one that has the ability to actually control front end rise.

If I had to buy again it would be Viking or Afco....Not a fan of Strange products or their customer service

I would buy Afco. The QA! and Viking shocks are throw away if you want to rebuild them. Call Randy at Fastshocks. He is a dealer and rebuilder. He has helped many of the top sportsman racers around the country. 612-306-5387

vikings are fully rebuildable and re-valveable

Your front end shake is not likely shock related but geometry related.
From your pic the front end is up in the air and the upper a arm has a lot of drop is there a stop on the arm ? the more drop the more toe out.
i also had to make the tie rod sleeve longer ( heat and bend lower ball joint closer to the tire) to lesson toe out change.
the more mph when landing the more critical.

Here is a pic with it off the ground, I had the alignment done with typical zero degree toe and about 7 degree caster rocked in it.
All suspension parts are new and even had the box rebuilt. As far as acromion and bump steer I do not know but several people that has watched the car said shocks as well as folks on this forum. I'm just going to start eliminating suspects.

For example, if you start with zero degree toe in and your tie rod adjusting sleeve is level, any lift from that point wheels go toe out. And if you have a lot of drop, you will have excessive toe out when landing.

Front end shake or steering wheel shake could be caused by worn parts which you obviously don't have; or excessive toe out when landing. If you can check the angle of the tie rod adjusting sleeve at rest and let me know what that is, I can help you trouble-shoot a little further. I have run a body cars with no shocks and have not had wheel shake.

How fast wereshocks going with no front shocks and what purpose was the car being used for

but the rear shocks went 9.70s @ 131 stock eliminator
dead shocks only on bad tracks
