converter balance weights? - 08/01/15 07:20 PM

Just had a new motor built, its internal balanced. balancer has no weights added. Motor was installed by others. previous motor was stock rotating assembly so converter has weights. Do i need to remove the converter weights before I run/drive or wait to see if there is vibrations. Motor is built high HP and RPM.

Gotta remove the weights from the convertor and run a flex plate and damper for an internal balance motor.

Yep.. knock the weight off the conv and change to a zero flex plate

Depends on where the weights are located; thin weights on the outer periphery are for mass balancing and must stay in place but weights on the engine side of the converter are for external balancing...those must be removed.
