All my switches are mounted over head on the halo
bar.. gauges in the dash(custom dash)
EDIT
This set up is on the race car.. on the street rod I have the
gauges in the center where the radio use to go.. I moved the
radio to the bottom of the counsel... I have a couple of switches
on this ride.. one is for the OD, one for my ele dumps and these
are on the shifter counsel... I have a master over ride switch that
turns on the fan and water pump for cooling with the engine off..
other than that everything is tided in with the key/ignition switch

I was switching all of my stuff off of my Cheetah shifter console. I since switched everything over to run off of my megasquirt and the only two switches I have is the starter button and key. I look forward to letting the computer handle the fans and pumps this year.

On my Dart I gutted the stock cluster and cut a piece of 1/8" alum. which I hit w/a wire wheel for a brushed look and installed vdo flush mounted gauges for tach, oil, water temp, and volt meter then mounted my trans temp and afr gauge in the dash where the lighter would be. thumbs

My Ignition switch is mounted on the halo bar. My gauges are mounted with cups on the knee bar. My shifter light is mounted on the driver side down tube of the rollbar and my switches are mounted in the holes on the mounting bracket for the PPP shifter. If you look on the bottom right of the picture, I have also mounted an inside battery kill switch. The key is to be able to reach everything you need to while completely strapped in. That includes your fire extinguisher.

Gauges in the dash. Most switches are overhead. However the stock dash knobs have been swapped to line lock, horn, engine oil/trans temp swap, and recall tach trigger.

I decided to make factory appearing delete plates and add my switches to the heater control delete plate.

The switches are 30amp and have lighted LED tips.

I bought a black plastic carrying case that had similar looking grain like the dash. I measured the area of the heater and radio and traced it onto the plastic case. I then cut the pieces out and drilled holes for the switches and also the factory screws for the dash panel.

It works for now and doesn't look to bad in my opinion. I am going to have some small decals made to place under each switch (i.e. fuel, water, fan, etc).
