thanks vttm but I want to buy one just to let it in the car. but I don't want to spend 500.00 on a go pro and have the chance of someone taking it. I just thought there would be a cheaper one that is decent

I have the same one. SJCAM SJ4000 with wifi.
Works very nice for the money.
Can't see myself paying 3 to 4 times the amount (!) for a hyped GoPro with similar features.
The SJcam comes with a bunch of mounts and accessoires included.

I would advice in getting at least a Wifi-equipped camera.
There will most likely come a time when you like to shoot some suspension action under the car. It would be great if you can just mount the cam before a run, turn it 'on', but not filming yet, in the pits, then roll out to the stage-area and only then let the cam start filming with help of your or a helpers phone.

I have a Go-Pro.. its the top of the line one... thats
what the wife wanted.. so I got it.. I also use in the car
my Sony Power Shot SX280HS.. its a WI-FI version... and
it with the things I wanted was $190

I am using a Panasonic HDC-TM40 I just have mine bolted to the roll cage like on this pass of mine yesterday.
