Hi,

could you tell me which gears and tires do you use for racing ? Weight of the car, 60' and ET ?

3400 lb Duster with driver, 3:91 gears, 315x60x15 ET Street Radails, 10:34 ET at 128.6 mph. I have used 3:73, 4:10 and the 3:91 in the same car with almost identicle results

The motor is 518 C.I. pump gas with some good parts so that can make a difference, 700+ hp and 740+ ft lbs torque last time on the engine dyno

Old cuda, ran a 28" MT street radial, 3.91 gear, 1.36 60' 9.98 @ 134 mph in street trim...Phill

4.30 gear with Mosir axles and spool, 29.5X10.5 M/T slick
Consistent 11.40's with 1.56 60 foot, 3000 lb car with 360 on throttle.

What I�m thinking about... I�be a 3:73 gears on a 318 aproximatly 450hp.. I don�t have that torque so.. changing 3:73 to 4:10 will have a great effect on my ET ?

Have simulated it on software Drag2003 and can�t see much improvement...

68 Dart 3150lbs ( see signature) best E.T. 10.40, best MPH 126.42, best 60 ft 1.40 with 4.88s Hoosier Radial slicks 10x28 or Hoosier bias slicks 10.5 x 29.5
Now throttle stopped down to run 11.50s at 114-115 mph 1.53-56 60ft Hoosier QTPs 29 x 11.5 putting 4.56s back in to try and run 116-117 mph.

2950lbs 4.8 richmond gears 32x14 et drags 1.34 60' 9.70@138mph @ 7200 cross the stripe. 5500 stall.

You'll see a difference specially with a 318. Since
you basicly dont have much torque you need the steeper
gear to use it as a torque multiplier, you'll be
spending more time at the slower speeds

If you look at the time you spend trying to come
off the line to lets say 200' you spend most of the
track time there(per given distance), steeper gears
accellerates harder quicker to move you that distance

I have had the 4.11's on the street with some 255's and was at about 3200 RPM and running about 55 - 60 MPH.

like cab i just switched to M/T ET streets 295-65-15 though. with 4.10 gear i was using M/T 28/10.5 slicks. 1.42 60' 4,000 lb car&dr.

Last season I ran the Hoosier 30x10.5 92.5 cir Radial slicks with a 4:30 gear. Best 60' with those was a 1.42. This season I will be running M/T 29.5x10.5 non "W" slicks.

i run 4:10 and 28x13.50 tire on my duster and i drive it on the street 1.46 sixty foot times
