Hi Guys I have a 318 block from 68 and im about to use it with a 4 inch crank,and im looking at 500 to 550 hp and its a 2 bolt block.
what do you think guys will the block hold for that crank???

Block will hold just fine, asumeing no dramatic core shift of course. One thing I would think about is better main caps, they are punier than a 340 cap but the block webbing is the same. One over looked advantage to the 318 blocks is less grinding for roller lifters, and if you had a roller block then no grinding required.

I've heard the early 318's had thicker cylinder walls,sonic testing will tell you.I've been looking for a early 318 67-70 for a stroker build myeslf.

My 70 318 stroker went together perfectly and is a great little motor. I may be upgrading my project to a 451 I have

Hi:yes the earlier blocks had thicker walls and i think the 68 block has it
