Sidewinder head developments - 04/22/15 12:50 AM

Ive been thinking seriously about buying a set after reading the very few posts about them.

A set of OOTB will fill the bill for my combo for now but are any of the builders here working up a program for porting these heads ?

I would just like to know if as my combo grows the heads can grow with me to around the 600 HP level.

Thanks

I can vouch there is already a porting head program for the sidewinders. Larry Smith
has ported, flowed, sawed apart, and done rigorous test on these heads for Todd Marsh,
of Marsh Performance. I have bought and used several myself, and have so far been pleased. As an engine builder I see them as a great and affordable entry level head, with
Definite room for improvement with a professional port job like Larrys or others out there
grinding. Larry ports in house at my shop,(HP Engines). You can pm or call shop or Marsh
Performance for more specifics or to contact Larry. Hope this helps.

I know there are tons of good porters out there but...Larry Smith is a three time daytona 500 winning head porter--he has been doing indy heads, edelbrocks, and now Sidewinders for me, Todd Marsh at marsh performance/Moparts connection, and HP engines for YEARS now--He knows Mopar heads! He has been able to produce better numbers on Indy heads than Indy themselves! he set the worl record on Stage IV hemi heads --Stage IV said no way on his numbers but were proved wrong! The guy is called on by the Detroit guys all the time--He is the real deal--recently retired from Nascar he has now set up shop in North Carolina at HP Engines Norwood NC--Home of stout Mopars for years! They are doing Mopar head work that is second to none when it comes to actual HP! Flow numbers are cool but Larry understands and knows how to make HP!!!
The Sidewinders are super heads OOB and respond well to mild clean up but..they really do shine with a full port---HP levels always depend on dozens of other things but these heads are the new standard for killer performance and QUALITY at an economy price--The biggest news IMO is the high quality of the castings, guides, seats etc at a MUCH lower price than the Eddys--Anyone that has compared them to Sourced heads can see plain as day the casting quality difference--
Call HP, Marsh Perf and get a quote on them today!
I have ...and have been WELL satisfied!
