Hemi main bearings - 04/05/15 06:28 PM

I'm getting the main bearings for my world iron hemi block. Will the speed pro 119m bearings fit. They say 440. What is the difference between hemi and 440 main bearings? I am using a Callies crank

Thanks Brandon

All RB and Hemi take the same main bearing with the exception of some RBs that had a larger thrust side flanges. The standard flange could be use on those also. The 119 bearing is 3/4 groove and best suitable for street/strip use.

I like and use the Federal Mogul, Seal Power #4095M which are a narrow full groove tri metal main set listed as truck bearings, they work good, last a long time

The 119M is a fine bearing for that engine. It's a softer style higher babbitt bearing so it won't last as long as one of my favorites the Clevite MS-2233HG coated by Calico.

the world blocks are machined to take the larger thrust bearing, you may wish to take advantage of this, however the small thrust will still work

Another option (that I use in my drag race blocks) is the Clevite MS1277HG. 1974 and newer blocks with the large thrust surface, full groove.
