I would love too know also, last I saw it was two years ago at Cecil. I think he hurt the motor at that race.

Bunch of pics of Lenny's truck on here, think Outlaw10.5(Randy) has some, few on the Bullet of the first gen truck, last I heard it was low 5s with a lotta spray with a SB and very basic suspension nothing trick but the custom Aerospace frt brakes the was made just for the truck.

Re: Lenny's Black Dakota - 04/22/15 03:05 PM

He still has the truck he was gonna try and get it out this year and make some passes. I was talking with him about 31 box and some other stuff a few weeks back. He is also building a 360-5speed dakota for his son now.

Another member here is planning to campaign a black Dakota this year. His name is Dustin Ward and he has posted pics of the new ride in the past maybe he will chime in to this post. I saved a picture of it when he shared last year

There is enough out there someone should be doing it already,
If there was I would sell my 96 and buy another 3rd Gen.

Re: Lenny's Black Dakota - 04/22/15 11:00 PM

I honestly prefer the 1st/2nd gen myself. But thats personal preference
Posted By: Randy..

Re: Lenny's Black Dakota - 04/22/15 11:36 PM

3rd gen looks better with big rubber like 33 10.5W, I prob won't run anything bigger than a 315 DR on my 96. Gonna try and not touch the frame, Might have to notch it though, had 315 BFGs on a 11" wheel and it was very close to bed side and frame.

LOVE THE WHEELS! How did you get it that light? Stock frames/suspension ? How much sheet metal did you remove?

Re: Lenny's Black Dakota - 04/23/15 03:22 AM

Haven't weighed my brother's yet, but I don't think the early ones are all that light either...

Re: Lenny's Black Dakota - 04/23/15 05:32 AM

Ahhh, why not do a strut or double A arm frt? So to run heads up classes or be more street friendly.

MoparBilly why didn't he go with the big tires on back? Jk. I think that's the best looking 2nd gen I've ever seen with big tires, looks good.

Re: Lenny's Black Dakota - 04/23/15 06:11 AM

When i started building the truck back in 2009 it was built for street racing and the track wasn't even considered. Well I have prioties now and the street racing is over for me so now I just enjoy it as a cruiser and track racer.

Re: Lenny's Black Dakota - 04/23/15 07:13 AM

Randy,
Little brother has always been in love with the pro street look!! It's a work in progress, but it can co from this to that in about 10 minutes and two guys. Bed sides and tail gait are completely removable, and held in place with locating pins to the trees and cage visible in the second picture. The bed has no front, so the back of the cab serves double duty.

That is an amazing looking truck. If I had the money it would be in my garage, not normally a truck guy but that generation of Dakota is awesome.

I'd love to have Lenny's truck and drop my hemi into it. That truck is definitely the nicest I've seen...pics do not do it justice. Lenny does some amazing work.

I can't tell you how lowered...I am not sure! lol. It has 315/50/15 drag radials on ladders and coils and a Dana with Willwood brakes. Front end is stock. One day I would like to get some tubular control arms and race brakes to get some weight off the nose.
