One of my all time favs, is the Henry J. Used to have one cruising in the old neighbourhood when I was a kid.

Derrick,
That car looks bad going down the track. Maybe when I'm back up north this summer I'll get a chance to come over and watch you run at the Bend.

There was a Henry J running at the local track. Wicked fast, beautiful car, rolled in the lites at the top end. Take care, be careful. Dave

Seen you at Pinks at Norwalk.... how did it run that time.
I have a buddy that owns a Henry J... he's been working
on it for years(hard time finding parts)

Re: Video of Henry J getting some air - 01/11/09 03:00 PM

Thanks guys. My eddy heads are with Jeff now at Modern and I am either going to a sheet metal or Indy tunnel ram. Best time last year was 9.90, hope to be running 9.70's this summer That's about as fast as I want to go with something this high and short. They trend to get real light at the top end, especailly the Henry J's with the open front end But my buddy runs 9.10's with his all steel 40 Willys with an aluminum 588 KB But it's not quit as high as mine

Wild Bill, don't temp me. Actually the company I work for has a factory in Cleveland. They also have one in Texas though too. And I am a Cowboys fan not a Browns fan But I was told to stay away from Texas on the account of those crazy Mexicans I am not ready move anyway, will continue to get taxed to death here in Canada

Russ did not know you hung out here, cool Would be cool to see you this summer some time. Don't think I can afford the money or time to come down for Bristol in May

There are a couple of "street" Henry Js around here---one with a 671 blown 380" SB GM and the other with what the owner claims is an original 426 hemi with factory 2X4 drag intake. Both look like they just drove from the drag strip!

Derrick, ride down with Fatboy. I have plenty of room for you to stay. If I get Da Bee back together I may make it up to The Bend to nostalgia race with you guys this summer.

I really like Henry Js too! My Allstate is very similar, and now has a Henry J grille.
Congrats on a great looking car that maintains the Gasser look.

Re: Video of Henry J getting some air - 01/11/09 06:59 PM

Thanks guys
Mr. P Body, yah we met at Norwalk Pinks. Wild Bill introduced us. My car was running 10.40's that day. Had my 440 in it then from my 63 Belvedere because the 512 decided to chew up a bearing a couple weeks before on the dyno. Made the call to pull the motor out of my street because I was not going to miss Pinks

Hemi Allstate, very cool car you have there I think I have followed the build on one of the Henry J websites

Russ, you never know. Will see what happens
