Running wanted ads for race parts warning - 02/12/15 05:11 AM

I know everyone probably knows this already. I have run several wanted ads on Racingjunk and here and have had good luck finding what i was looking for used. I ran an ad about a month ago for a set of double beadlock alumastars. I had a guy from back east respond to my ad saying he had multiple sets. I wanted polished and he had black so I passed. He text back later that he had a friend in Florida that had a set of polished that he would trade for and sell to me. The backspace was wrong and I passed again. Last week he texted again and said he had a set of Billet Specialties that he traded for and would let go cheap. I said I had some in the way so I was good. The following day he texted me again saying he bought a bunch of used pro stock stuff and was selling it, carbon front brakes, used tires, more beadlocks, computer etc.

I just read a post by Bob Benza on insidecomp about what I assume is the same guy texting me trying to sell me the stuff Bob has for sale on insidecomp racing.

I almost trusted this guy in the beginning. I know we all think it won't happen to us, were a good judge of character etc. Anyway, just a reminder of what goes on out there.

It's Ray Verhellier (sp) back at it again. Apparently his last trip through court didn't do much.

Wish I had knows as I have some Weld Alumastar double bead locks I am selling, they are 16x16. Looking to go to a Delta.

I hear you on the trusting people and buying parts. I recently bought some wheels for my dragster(16x16 non bead locks) on RJ from an east coast guy. Did my homework and talked to him a good deal. I don't have them yet but they are on the way.

I hate people that pull this crap. I have to be real careful who I buy RC race parts from these days too, already been ripped off once.

I too would like to see Demon pics.

It is him. I don't kow the whole story other than he should be avoided.

Al, that is unfortunate. I sent mine to weld to have them double beadlocked.

Here is some pictures of the Demon

Unfortunately the word doesn't get out until people get took. According to Bob Benza Ray already had to give at least one guy money back under threat of being prosecuted again. Sad part is it shows how little it means having a court judgement against you.

OP, sweet Demon.
