Perhaps, but I think he earned it over the years. From what I have seen AJ will be fine. Better then closing the place and selling off the machinery.

Wish you both the best on your new adventures. Bob just don't retire from here. I would miss your wisdom and humor.

Good choice, Bob. You've been burning the candle at both ends for a long time, it's time. You and I've talked about it often......the choice of AJ to run the shop is a good one!
Congrats, AJ!

Re: Bob George Racing "The end of an era" - 02/08/15 02:26 PM

congrats bob ! a.j. will be a great legacy promoter ! i'm just disappointed i never got to meet you or any of your guys[and i'm not all that far away], but my retirement is closing fast, and if my health holds out, hopefully, my humpback project[of 40 some years] will kick into high gear to get at least motating under it's own power. this will require many engine questions to meet the goals i have for it, which i only hope you can provide some wisdom to share with me so i don't embarrass myself too bad. the only thing that i bet many want to know is this : what kinda shenanigans are planned for out back in the hog pen ?

Re: Bob George Racing "The end of an era" - 02/08/15 04:21 PM

Myself as well as the gang of "Misfits"will still be working at the shop and racing.AJ is taking the helm to insure that Curt's legesy will continue for future generations. Many feel that BGR's contributions to the Mopar community is vital and must remain available to racers and Mopar enthusiast. We will always be available to those who need help.
I retired from the heavy construction business after over 50 years, but my love for the sport will never allow me to walk away drag racing. With AJ running BGR it will give me more time to enjoy myself.I can also take the time needed to help Donny Martik campaign his 65 Cornet.
As always our main focus is to insure that Curt's legesy of "racers helping racers, paying it forward" carrys on and the sport we all love continues.Personally I'am both humbled and honored by the respect and support that we at BGR have recieved over the years and hope that everyone's experience with BGR was recieved with that same respect and support. We hold in high regard all our friends, racers and "extended family members".
Respectfully Bob

Nice to know your just passing the Tig Torch to A.J., he'll do a fine job carrying on and promoting the BGR tradition.

Congrats to everyone and best wishes for the future at BGR

With Aj at the helm it looks like business as usual for a long time. Continuing Curts legacy for the future generations of BGR racers, family and friends.

Bob - It was alarming to read the headlines that you were possibly closing, glad to hear that things will continue at BGR and that you will still be hanging around. I can never thank you enough for all that you have done for our race car venture! Best of LUCK in your 2nd retirement and I believe that A J will do a great job of carrying on the BGR tradition ! Re: Bob George Racing "The end of an era" - 02/10/15 09:20 PM

Well this is certainly a positive development...

Last time I was there some guy had parked his 67 roller there for months taking up valuable shop space, people weren't putting tools back where they belong, and the dogs had taken over all inbound mail shipments.

Seriously though, congrats to you both! Let the good times roll

Re: Bob George Racing "The end of an era" - 08/11/15 01:52 AM

I know you can't remember what happened yesterday but you helped me and many others when I was 16 in 1967. Nothing has changed. I wish I knew Curt but I'm sure he was like his Dad in this same way. I personally am eternal grateful for your contributions to the Mopar performance world. AJ will do a great job taking the reins. It's not the end of an Era my friend it's the beginning of a legacy. Many thanks to you and best wishes to AJ.
