I was given the bird tonight....... - 01/10/09 03:01 AM
I knew it was going to be a weird night....I was working on a set of BB Chevy rods/pistons that I just had sodablasted....and also a Twisted Wedge Ford head...I should have know something would go amuck. Chevy and Ford together is just bad Joo Joo. I turned on the jet washer to get it up to temperature....went to get my dinner, came back from the diner and figured I'd jet wash the pistons, get the soda out and clean them up, also finish was the Ford head...again...I should have known this was like mixing toxic chemicals!...On goes the washer... I go back to my office and hear the washer running just fine...then I hear what I thought was a water trickle....get up and go see...sure enough...the jet washer is leaking pretty good....I'm thinking oh no..its sprung a leak ...its an older Peterson, but still in relatively good shape.....water pouring out the front.....shut er down....clear the steam and open the door...the base is full of water up to the door...what the *ell is going on..there is no way it could be clogged with engine debris/grease etc...I keep it the solution fairly clean and change it rather often.....let it drain...dont see anything....as the water goes down...I see my problem....floating carcass'. Seems with the cold weather....the starlings needed a place to stay warm, so they came in my vent pipe for the machine.....only problem is...that solution is extremely caustic.....and down they went once I turned it on...3 washed up birds....one Big Rat..( the Chevy) and a small Pony.....who'd a thunk it ? It almost feels like a day at BG's place.
