Wanting to put 9 inch brake setup on my 74 duster looking to lose weight over our 10 inch setup what will work the drums on our 10 inch setup are heavy. Will a setup off a late 60s dart work

I raced cars with drums for years 10 inch A body and 10 inch E body but when you start running faster than 110 mph depending on the length of track and turn outs it can get interesting especially if you already used them dumping at the stripe. I recently switched over to Wilwood front disc and was happy with the front weight loss, and they work. They may not be in your budget but its a thought. also I know there are many people who have run much faster with drums its just up to you. Good luck with your decision.

So 9 inch Ford and Honda Acura TL both have the same bolt pattern. A TL centerhole is smaller. The rear disc brake setup fits on a 9 inch very nice. All you have to do is have someone open the centerhole on the rotor. I got mine from a junkyard. I got the hoses, calipers and rotors.Birdtracker

Its been a while since the swap and I would have to guess at it. How fast are you running in the 1/4.

I can tell you from recent experience that the Wildwood "pro street" front brakes weighed exactly the same as the 9" drums we removed from a 70 Duster.
Bonus: the car stops now!

If you really want to put 9" drums on, I have a complete setup at my shop we just took off a '70 Dart. They are not that light, and stopping with them in a hurry is a white knuckle ride for sure.

waste of time swapping drum brakes, if you want to save weight go to a cheap disc set up. and even they may not be that much lighter but at least you can stop

I would not put 9" drums on. I just took them off my duster, and saved a ton of weight. I weighed my aerospace kit I have not weighed all my drum parts yet but I'm willing to bet it's around 25 lbs savings.
Why do you want to stay with drums? The only reason I kept them for so long was because they didn't do much for me to stop on the ice, since the rears do all the stopping. Once I hit the asphalt I had a he77 of a time stopping from 140 mph.
